A REMINDER that the deadline for nominations for the Clackmannanshire Sports Council awards is Friday, February 9.

Nominations to the council can be submitted across a number of categories, with entries being judged on sporting achievements between January 1 and December 31.

On the nomination form, detailed information has been given on the criteria for entries, stating: “Nominees from clubs and organisation must be affiliated to a club/sport in Clackmannanshire.

“The sport must be officially recognised by sportscotland. Nominations will be judged on the entry form alone.

“Exceptions for this are for the Adult Spokesperson of the Year Award where information could be sought from elsewhere.

“Nominees for this category will also be eligible if they have moved away from Clackmannanshire for training or competitive reasons.

“The awards team reserves the right to seek verification on the information included in the nomination form.”

Nominations can be submitted across a broad range of categories, with a photo of the nominee submitted to be used on social media and during the results evening.

The awards are as follows: junior/senior sportsperson of the year, team of the year, primary/secondary school team of the year and junior schools sports award.

There are also awards for triumph over adversity – participation/competition, coach of the year – participation/competition, primary young leader award and a more general young leader/volunteer award.

Lastly, there are awards for service to sport and lifetime contribution to sport for adults.
