A TEENAGE footballing prodigy is hoping to attract sponsors to fund his dream of playing college football in America.

Loklan Hay, 17, plays for Dunblane SC and has attracted offers from several top universities in the United States, who are keen to snap up the youngster.

In order to make his dream a reality, Loklan is embarking on several fundraisers to put together the money to get him to the USA.

His family are also appealing to businesses and organisations who are keen to sponsor Loklan and help him achieve his goal.

Speaking to the Advertiser, Loklan said: “This has been my dream for as long as I can remember. Because it has only been my mum and I, never did I think it would become a reality.

“My mum has always encouraged me to follow my dreams and not let anything stand in my way of achieving them.

“I want to show others that no matter what, if you work hard, you can achieve the impossible no matter what.”

Loklan lives with his mother Arlene Graham, who is helping him carry out several fundraising projects over the next year. He aims to leave for America in August 2025.

Arlene said: “There is a high cost involved in Loklan going so we are planning on doing a lot of fundraising over the next year.

“This includes a car wash at Co-op Funeralcare, Alloa, and Loklan having his legs waxed by Michelle at Beauty Box; and we're also looking for any companies that would be interested in sponsoring him.

“He has already secured donations from Tony at Allure Style Studio, Stirling, and his lovely clients, as well as from family and friends.

“We have a long way to go but we're confident, with the help of our family and friends, that next year he will be living his dream of playing football in America."
