A CHARITY providing free practical and emotional support to people in the Forth Valley is set to host a fundraiser with a day of dancing and music.

Maggie's Forth Valley will be hosting its Motown for Maggie's event at Grangemouth Town Hall this summer.

Held on Saturday, June 22, the event will see entertainment from the Soul Kings and includes a buffet along with prizes to be won, with tickets priced at £30 each.

The event, fresh in the fundraising calendar, will take place from 2pm to 6pm on the day.

Cristina Pouso, centre fundraising manager at Maggie's Forth Valley, said: “We are super excited to bring Motown for Maggie’s to the Grangemouth Town Hall.

“This is a new event for us and for anyone who likes a bit of day dancing to some great music.

“You can hit the dancefloor and still get home for an early night!

“There will be lots of prizes to be won on the day too as well as a buffet.

“And with the gorgeous Gina from the Radio hosting it is shaping up to be quite the day out!”

There are more than 1,900 people diagnosed with cancer in the Forth Valley each year.

Maggie's, a centre based on the grounds of Forth Valley Royal Hospital at Larbert, seeks to ensure those diagnosed do not have to face tough questions, exhausting treatment and difficult emotions alone.

The good cause relies on voluntary donations to support and grown its network of centres and develop its unique, high quality programme of support.
