A SAUCHIE man's abusive behaviour towards his former partner lasted more than a year.

John Gibson, of Main Street, appeared in the dock at Alloa Sheriff Court.

He admitted that between March 1, 2022, and July 10, 2023, at Menstrie, Tullibody, Seaton Sands caravan park and elsewhere, he engaged in an abusive course of conduct towards his former partner.

The 34-year-old repeatedly sent unwanted text and online messages, entered her home uninvited when she was on holiday and attended at her home uninvited on another occasion.

Gibson shouted at her, accused her of infidelity, shouted and swore at her, seized her phone and smashed it by throwing it against a wall.

He struck her, struggled with her, pushed her, causing her to fall to the ground and strike her head on chairs, all to her injury. He grabbed her by the body and seized her mobile phone.

Depute fiscal Sean Iles said the couple had been in relationship for two and a half years until March 2022 when it ended.

In June that year, when the woman was abroad on holiday, Gibson went into her home without permission.

When she returned home, he continued to send her messages.

Sheriff Neil Bowie deferred sentencing until May 23 for an assessment for the Caledonian Programme for domestic offenders.
