A SERIES of free football opportunities is making a return to Alloa and Tullibody.

The games, provided by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust Game On project, are held on Friday afternoons and evenings.

With aims of increasing health and well-being, providing positive destinations and community engagement, the project hopes to welcome kids aged between the ages of 7-17 to the sessions.

Sean Laird, CRT Game On development manager, said: “Each Friday CRT Game On will offer six hours of free football coaching and facilitation for youngsters from 7-17 years of age in both Alloa and Tullibody with fully qualified and PVG-certified coaches.

“In addition, our Football 5ives (12-17 years) will have an aspirational pathway included for youngsters to create a 5-a-side team and compete at our annual CRT Community Cup with winners going on to represent ‘Scotland’ at the Home Internationals played at the City Academy, home to Manchester City.

“Alloa 5ives were crowned champions in 2022 against their English and Welsh counterparts.”

The Alloa sessions take place at the Indodrill Stadium from 5pm-7pm on Fridays, while the Tullibody sessions are on Fridays between 6pm and 7.30pm.

For girls interested in playing football, free sessions will be launching this Friday, February 9.

Girls and women can head along for the start of an eight-week block of sessions on Fridays from 5.30pm-6.30pm at the Indodrill Stadium.

These sessions are run by the Wasp Community Club in partnership with Alloa Athletic Women FC.
