BOXERS continue to bring the medals home to the Wee County in what has been a successful streak in recent months.

Figthers at Alloa Boxing Club have been proving their selves in the ring and Clacks spectators can soon cheer them on at a home show in April.

Club members have been on form since November when Reece McCormack, Steven Saunders, Ricky McDonald and Dylan Smith all took part in the Eastern District Championships, bringing home three golds and a silver.

Lennon Murray then went on to win gold at the end of January at the Boxing Scotland Development Championships, following his game plan brilliantly in controlled performance.

It was then time for the School & Junior Golden Gloves Championships at the end of February and start of March, with silverware continuing to flow.

The club's William Boyle, Eva Hynd and Leon Hutchison all won gold to bring three home to Alloa.

Several fighters are now preparing or the Youth & Elite Golden Gloves Championships over the coming weekends.

Head coach John Whyte has been proud to see all the hard work and dedication paying off as he has been working with some of the boxers for many years.

Following the Golden Gloves, the club will be looking forward to its “big brawl in the big hall”.

The home show will take place on Saturday, April 20, with doors open at 7pm.

Clacks talent Kieran Fisher will be involved, and tickets, set at £25, are expected to go fast with away clubs visiting the Wee County.
